Today, SIM begins 10 days of prayer together. As we do so, our team in South Sudan have written a prayer for the nation they serve. Please join them as they pray - for their country, for yours, and for all the nations of the world.

God in heaven, You made the heavens and the earth. You created this land, divided by rivers.

You made our people.

You brought your Word here, generations ago, and it took root and has not stopped growing since.

Through the turmoil, the decades of war, the drought, the floods, your Word was not swept away.

People heard and believed.

We believed.

Elders passed it down through the generations. Carried it with them wherever they went.

And your church grew.

I have seen it.

People fleeing their home from war heard it in refugee camps. And you made a home in them.

And your church grew.

Mothers clutching children and studying your word, repeated the stories to their neighbours.

And your church grew.

You made every soul down to every cell. You know every pain. And you heal every disease.

You lift burdens that have no medicine.

I have seen it with my own eyes.

You planted Your church among people crossing borders.

Together with servants from all corners of the world, You are continuing your work.

And this is our prayer:

We want to see Your Church spread to every corner of the world; to go to the farthest reaches, to communities where You are least known.

We want to see your Word carried from here to every corner where hope is fleeting.

To care for hurting hearts, wrestling with loss.

We want people to know you love them.

We want your kingdom come, your will be done… together. We want people to see you and believe.

That’s our prayer.

God, help us.

We’re ready.

Storytelling is not just for kids
