Namibia Pastors' Book Sets (94366)

Many Namibian Pastors do not have the means or the opportunity to purchase good Christian resource books. While many Namibians are becoming better educated, many pastors with their limited training and resources struggle to prepare relevant challenging messages. The Pastors’ Book Set (PBS) seeks to provide Christian resource books for pastors to better equip them with tools they need for ministry.

Books will help pastors to obey Paul’s words to Timothy, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed accurately handling the word of truth.” (II Tim. 2:15)

The PBS is targeting 1400 Pastors in Namibia and organizing conferences in four key cities. Participants are invited to attend two conferences where they will receive books and biblical teaching on topics relevant to ministry in Namibia. False teaching and wrong theology seem to be gaining ground and the PBS could become an effective tool in strengthening believers in the truth of God’s word.

What is in a Book Set?

A PBS includes a Study Bible, the Africa Bible Commentary, a Bible concordance, a Bible Encyclopedia, the Shepherd’s Staff, and many other books written from the African perspective on issues of theology, Christian marriage, youth ministry, ministry to people with HIV and AIDS, worship, giving, etc. Finally, the two conferences that each participant attends will seek to challenge each one with relevant topics of ministry in Namibia.

Adopt a Pastor

A gift of US$250 will provide one recipient with these books and with the opportunity to benefit from the teaching of two PBS conferences. Because so few pastors have quality Christian books, this investment can positively affect hundreds of people who sit under the ministry of those who receive these resources. A carpenter would find it difficult to construct a chair without tools; similarly a pastor would find it difficult to construct an effective message without tools of ministry.

Would you consider adopting a Namibian pastor and investing in African believers by covering the cost of books for one or more Christian workers?

How Do I Adopt a Pastor?

Please begin by praying for these many pastors and Christian workers that God would make provision for His people. The church makes the most progress when it moves forward on its knees.

If you would like to cover the cost of one or more Namibian pastors, please contact your nearest SIM office or give online to project 94366. Thank you and God bless!
