Ministry Vision

As a diverse Gospel community, our vision is to glorify God by discipling people into evangelical and mission-minded churches within Central and South-East Asia (C-SEA).

We desire to see:

• effective partnering with national churches and other agencies in seeing the church of Jesus Christ established and strengthened
• effective creative-access platforms to live, work, and minister in the region
• effective discipling and training of believers
• local churches equipped to reach the unreached within and outside of their own people groups and country
• growth of the SIM work force in order to maximize ministry opportunities throughout C-SEA

Current SIM Ministry

The C-SEA area office in Chiang Mai provides leadership and governance in developing the vision, setting strategic direction, and securing resources for each of the ministries in which C-SEA personnel are involved.

In Thailand we are now partnering with OMF in recruiting church planters/disciplers to work among the majority Buddhist population (around 95%), and in partnership with local churches where they exist. Exciting possibilities for Sports Friends ministries (in conjunction with church planting/discipling) are being explored, to initially be based in Thailand, and eventually to reach out across C-SEA. We are also responding to needs in Thailand in the areas of education (teaching English and in international schools) and medicine (HIV & AIDS training and networking).

In other C-SEA countries there is a sense that God is doing a major work of preparing people for harvest. The many new believers need someone to disciple them. The native English speaker is in great demand in C-SEA countries. The door is wide open for teaching English and other subjects in the universities. There is a real sense of urgency to capitalize on this opportunity now.
