In the heart of La Renca, a poor area on the outskirts of Santiago, Chile, El Rincón de Alegría (Corner of Happiness) is reaching out to children at risk and their families.

Through a nursery school, and other programs for their parents, the staff is making a difference in the lives of people struggling to overcome difficult lives burdened by poverty.

Lise Dawson, a short-term associate from the UK working in La Renca reports that recently five women have decided to follow Jesus! They are meeting together two times a week to study the Bible, discuss family issues, and make jewelry to sell.

• for these women to grow in their faith and understanding of God’s love for them.
• for many of the children’s moms who are young, single, and juggling children from multiple relationships.
• the women participating in the literacy class to gain the skills they need to improve their lives.
• for the Rincon de Alegria staff to help the children and moms understand God’s love for them in Jesus.
