Teacher Training to Begin Soon in Sudan
by RoxAnne Cox, Sudan
29 April 2008
There are 170 Sudanese adults about to complete their last year of the Accelerated Learning Program (The Advanced Learning Program covers primary school education within two to three years). Soon they will begin their teacher training. SIM Sudan is operating Basic Education Learning Centers (BELCs) at five locations in southern Sudan. Currently classes are being held in temporary structures, but supplies are being gathered at various locations in order to construct permanent facilities. Tens of thousands of bricks have been made on site which will be used for the new classrooms. Praise God that two Nigerian missionary families will be returning to Sudan to resume teaching in the BELCs and to continue their ministries of evangelism and church planting. |
