From August 14-16, leaders of SIM’s work in the Americas will gather in Lima, Peru, to discuss SIM’s relationship with the Latin American missions movement. This is the first meeting to take action on the recent Board of Governor’s decision to open the doors of membership beyond the ten main SIM offices.

As the number of Latin American missionary candidates interested in serving with SIM grows, these discussions will help establish a solid framework for partnership with Latin American sending agencies.

In addition to the leaders of the SIM teams in the South American countries where SIM is working, missionaries working to mobilize the Latin church for missions, directors from the SIM USA and Canada offices, leaders from SIM International, and key players in the Latin American mission movement will come to the table to network and dialogue together.

Pray

  • For safe travels for those coming from across the Americas.
  • For unity in spirit as these leaders seek to understand how God is working in the Latin American missions movement and how SIM should be involved.
  • for clear understanding of the procedures and policies for processing of Latin American applicants.
  • for good action plans for future development.
