SIM Korea is serving the Church and equipping missionary candidates through English classes. Each year their annual English Mission Training (EMT) Camp draws mission-minded young people together for a month of intensive language learning and Bible teaching.

Teachers Needed

As they plan for the 2007 camp, they are praying for experienced TESL teachers who can serve in this dynamic ministry. Reflecting on the work of the teachers at the 2006 camp, EMT Coordinator Lydia Hwang, stated, "Students learned so much from their devoted work."

The EMT Camp program is varied and interactive. It includes:

• traditional English Classes,
• English Bible study,
• mission seminars,
• missionary testimonies,
• worship, and
• English conversation.

Teachers for 2007 should have some previous cross-cultural experience and be willing to teach not only English, but Bible studies as well. The program will run from June 25-July 20, 2007.

EMT Yields Positive Results

The camp produces better English speakers and committed world Christians. Two families who attended the 2006 EMT are already preparing to serve God in mission this coming year. Others have formed a mission prayer group on their university campus.

While many of the students come to the camp already thinking about missions, the quality of the English program also draws some students who are not Christians. Last year during the camp, two people made first-time commitments to follow Christ.
