Nigeria's President Olusegun Obasanjo, is "thrilled" with the new Africa Bible Commentary, which was launched in Nigeria on November 28, 2006. According to sources, he "carries it about and teaches Sunday school using it."

The Africa Bible Commentary was published last year, and has been distributed at SIM's' Pastors' Book Set conferences in various African countries, including Ethiopia, Kenya, and Zambia.

President Obasanjo made history in 1979, when he became the first African military leader to hand over power to civilian rule. In 1999, he returned to power as a civilian after spending three years in prison at the hand of military dictator, Sani Abacha. He is a firm advocate of a strong, unified Nigeria.
