Hospitality Opportunity: Miango Rest Home and Conference Center
27 October 2005
Do you have gifts in hospitality management? SIM frequently has assignments available in several countries for those interested to serve in this capacity. One such example is the Miango Rest Home and Conference Centre in Nigeria. The Miango Rest Home and Conference Centre exists to glorify God by providing facilities and service to the ECWA/SIM family and Christian Community of Nigeria and West Africa. Physical and spiritual renewal, fellowship and edification are all available at this quiet location nestled in the hills of Nigeria's Plateau State. The Rest Home has a total of 45 rooms, including individual rooms and cottages of varying sizes. One hundred participants may be accommodated for conferences and a maximum of 35 couples for retreats. Catering includes Continental and Nigerian dishes. A borehole supplies water. A small private company located in the town of Miango provides electricity, though the Rest Home also has its own generator. Opened in March 1913, Miango Rest Home was originally all that its name implies. It was a place where pioneer missionaries located in difficult places could come for rest. The function of the Rest Home has expanded to include other mission groups, churches as well as individuals and private groups both in Nigeria anc across West Africa. Today, MRH is a thriving facility where tired ministry workers find rest, and where collaboration and learning is made possible through conferences and retreats. To find out more about hospitality opportunities either at MRH or at other guest houses or conference centers around the world, please contact your local SIM Office. |
