The medical centers seek to provide quality and compassionate medical care, including outpatient consultations, pre and postnatal care, children's clinics and vaccination program, care of malnourished children and orphans and laboratory services. Bible and health teaching is an integral part of every activity, and this is done at the center as well as on routine visits to surrounding villages. The two centers are serving rural, underdeveloped regions where there would be no other medical care options available. The National Nurses Training program seeks to empower the Burkinabe staff of the two medical centers by providing tuition funds for nursing school students. This ministry has become especially important as we transform the centers into full "medical centers", which has created the need to train our nurses in specialties such as surgical aid, anesthesiology and laboratory technology. The Ophthalmology program seeks to build and equip two ophthalmology centers to treat patients with a variety of ocular problems and to perform surgery for cataracts and trachoma.
Please pray for:The successful opening of the two surgical blocks and new laboratory buildings. The students who are studying to become surgical aids, anesthesiologists, laboratory technicians, cataract surgeons, and nurses. Pray that they would succeed in their studies and be good resources for the staff when they have finished their studies. The transition process from "health clinic" to "medical center". Pray for the leadership teams of the two centers as they have to make many decisions and fulfill many administrative requirements, all while continuing to empower and motivate their staff.
