Langano Health Ministries Serving Many Arsi People
3 June 2008
a nurse treats a little boy

Since the Langano clinic opened in 1996, the health station located in central Ethiopia has been very busy with people who walk from long distances to receive medical care. The clinic serves the Arsi people, most of whom are Muslim.

In addition to offering medical services and treating malnutrition, the clinic will soon include an HIV Voluntary Counseling and Testing Center. To establish this center, the clinic staff plans to train more Ethiopian nurses to help provide these services.

An Ethiopian evangelist has joined the team and is enthusiastically preaching about Christ at the clinic several mornings a week. He is also accompanying the nurses on home visits.

Please pray

  • for more Ethiopian nurses to work at the clinic.
  • for the heath station to be used for God's glory among the Arsi people.
  • for the people who come seeking medical care to find the love and compassion of Christ in the people who care for them at the clinic.
  • for the small, struggling church in Langano to grow.
