Cyclone Leaves Thousands Dead, Millions Homeless
19 November 2007

In Bangladesh, the death tolls from Cyclone Sidr have topped 3,000. Millions have been left homeless.

The storm hit on Thursday evening, with winds of 150 miles per hour and a tidal surge of several meters. Along the southwestern coast of Bangladesh, millions are struggling to survive.

International aid is pouring in, and many relief organizations have mobilized to help. SIM does not have workers in this region of Bangladesh. If you would like to help, we recommend that you send donations to World Vision. Please join us in praying for the many people who are suffering.

Please pray

  • for God to comfort those who have lost family and friends in the devastation.
  • for strength for relief workers.
  • for God to provide for the many homeless people.
  • for people to understand the love of Christ through the ministry of Christian relief work.
