Please pray for the people of El Fundo

During the dry season, SIM missionaries serving in Gonzonoma, Ecuador, travel every other week to the mountain village of El Fundo.

Since the first aid classes in October 2006, the villagers have expressed interest studying the Bible. Despite challenges of muddy, impassable roads, the SIM team has continued to visit when it is dry and teach Bible stories beginning in Genesis.

Missionary Christine Platt reports that a committed group of eight adults and ten children come to the Bible studies, and when they host a special event, the entire village of about 40 people attends.

Isabel, an Ecuadorian Christian, visited with the team during the last trip. Sharing her story and singing for them, she was a great encouragement.

• For the believers to grow in their faith and gain confidence to witness to their friends and neighbours.
• For others in the community to become interested and start studying too.
• For wisdom in knowing how to best relate to and get to know the people.
• For work so that the men and young people don’t have to move away in order to provide for their families.
