In the past in order to get training at an accredited
school, future pastors had to go to Manila or Cebu and preferred not to return to the southern island of Mindanao. Koinonia Theological Seminary, www.kts.ph, was started to prevent this "brain drain."

“Ramelan” and “Lastri” are from Indonesia, where they served as pastors. Now they have been working in the Philippines for nearly two years.

On May 27, a poor shantytown community in the Philippines was destroyed by a fire of unknown causes. The destruction left 1,500 people homeless and two children dead.
