The Spirit at Work
by Paul and Carol Lukins, Ethiopia
7 January 2005

At night we can hear the Christians having impromptu gatherings with characteristic Mursi singing on the other side of the same banana patch swamp where a python was found. The faithful ministry of these Mursi Christians resulted in Olikoro, his wife, and two brothers deciding to follow Jesus.

They still wrestle with alcohol addiction but want to be taught God's Word. We praise the Lord for the evidence of the Spirit working here, in spite of all our inadequacies and poor language skill. Several others have trusted Christ recently. The challenge is to establish new believers in God's Word when no written Scriptures exist in their language and all teaching is oral. Pray with us for the Mursi church leaders—that they have a big impact among young people.
