Something Different about Grandma A
by Lize Labuschagne, Mauritius
13 April 2005
Grandma A and her daughter live together in Mauritius, and together they take care of Grandma A's terminally ill brother. Three times a week, Gerard, a male nurse, comes to their home to take care of her brother. The first day this young man entered her home, he told them he sensed something different about the whole atmosphere. Just before he left, he saw her Daily Bread and her Bible lying open where she was reading that morning.

"Now I know what is different!" he exclaimed. He asked her if she read her Bible every day and if she could tell him more about it. Grandma A did not hesitate, and for the past three months, Gerard has been coming over to hear about God. When he arrives, he asks her what she read that morning, and they talk about that passage. Afterward they pray, and he goes to take care of the sick uncle.

Recently, he told Grandma A that when he cares for her brother, he feels his hands are guided by invisible hands showing him what to do. Grandma A told him she prays for him. She is asking God not to let him leave her home before he has accepted the good news of Jesus' love and forgiveness.
