"Reaching Lima's Families" Project Brings Positive Change in Lima's Shanty Towns
31 March 2008
Watch a video about Bill and Jean Williamson's ministry.

After a six-month home assignment in the UK, SIM missionaries Bill and Jean Williamson have returned to their work in Lima's shanty towns. They were pleased to find that the Reaching Lima's Families project is still encouraging mothers and children who live with the daily challenges of poverty.

Eulalia had been coordinating the program while the Williamsons were away. She happily reported that some more mothers have chosen to follow Jesus.

Benedicta, a committee member, came by to thank the Williamsons saying that her son had won first place at school, crediting the educational activities at the project. She was also excited about the good report about improved health in the community. "The local clinic has told me that health in the area has improved," she said. "Especially since we built the extra toilets and gave more hygiene teaching." Soon, she will be supervising the building of even more toilets.

Praise God

  • for the good that the project is doing in the community
  • for the lives that have been changed as they have been introduced to God's love.

Pray

  • for the committee, as two members have small babies, and they are looking for one more person to serve.
  • for the mothers to understand God's word and grow spiritually.
  • for God to bless the next phase of the toilet project.
  • for the local church to continue to grow and be a good place for the new Christians.
